Dr. Mary D’Ambrosio became a a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care in 2016. She is 1 of only 28 board certified criticalists in Florida. A specialist in emergency and critical care is a specially trained veterinarian who is dedicated to treating life-threatening conditions. Dr. D’Ambrosio seeks to improve the quality of care pets receive during CRUCIAL times, improving their chance for a good outcome.

Dr. D’Ambrosio attended the University of Missouri where she received both her undergraduate degree in animal science and her veterinary degree. Dr. D’Ambrosio completed an additional 3 year intense residency program in emergency and critical care medicine in order to become a board certified criticalist.

Dr. D’Ambrosio got into this field of medicine because she wanted to give something back to the animals as they have given so much to her and their owners. Her goals are to make sure pets and their families receive the most current, state of the art care possible when they present with an unexpected emergency. Her current responsibilities at ASECB include triage and care of emergency patients on an outpatient and inpatient (critical care) basis.

Dr. D’Ambrosio is the proud pet owner of Bernie, a German Shorthaired Pointer, Sir Newton Beasley, a golden retriever, 2 cats named Tiger Chip and Cheddar Chip, and an American Saddlebred horse named Tucker.
