Monica Morgado, DVM

Dr. Monica Morgado is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She obtained all the pre-requisites for veterinary school while studying Animal Science from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus in 2007. After finishing her studies and publishing her research in composting with the National Zoo of Puerto Rico, she moved to North Carolina and earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine (DVM) degree from NC State in 2011. She completed her degree with a focus on small animal medicine and companion exotics, along with externships in the Galápagos Islands and in Puerto Rico.

Dr. Morgado moved to Orlando, Florida and practiced as a general practitioner in different hospitals while enhancing her skills in small animal veterinary dentistry through continuing education. After 7 years of experience, she joined the largest group of veterinary oral surgeons in the East coast, Animal Dental Center, for a 3 year Residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery. During her residency she had the opportunity to train over 200 general practitioners on different areas of veterinary dentistry such as dental radiology, periodontal disease therapy and oral surgery. Dr. Morgado’s main interests are periodontal disease surgery, oral cancer resections, managing malocclusions and root canal therapies.

Dr. Morgado has now moved back to Florida and is excited to join Animal Specialty and Emergency Center of Brevard as an Associate Veterinarian limited to Veterinary Dentistry. When she’s not working she enjoys hiking, dancing flamenco, traveling internationally and spending time outdoors with her Terrier Mix named Kachi. She looks forward to being back in Florida and kickstarting her career at an excellent practice with great atmosphere and a collaborative team.
