Taelor Aasen, DVM

Dr. Taelor Aasen earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 2023. Her passion for emergency medicine began years earlier while working as a veterinary technician at a busy specialty and emergency referral hospital in South Florida. It was there that she developed a deep appreciation for the fast-paced, collaborative nature of emergency care and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for critically ill patients and their families.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Aasen continued at the University of Florida where she participated in a specialty emergency and critical care internship. She later returned to South Florida and practiced at a high-volume, 24-hour referral hospital and worked with several emergency and specialty hospitals throughout the South Florida region. These experiences strengthened her clinical judgment and shaped her calm, compassionate approach to guiding families through urgent and often emotional situations.

After relocating to Cocoa Beach in late 2025, Dr. Aasen joined Animal Specialty and Emergency Center and became Medical Director in July 2026. She is passionate about clinical excellence, continuous learning, thoughtful client communication, and expanding access to advanced emergency and specialty care throughout Brevard County. She is equally committed to advocating for and supporting the hospital team by fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth, personal well-being, sustainable work-life balance, and long, fulfilling careers in veterinary medicine.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Aasen enjoys life by the sea. She is an avid surfer and loves taking her dog on morning beach walks and frequenting her local small town restaurants.
